How are retaining-wall blocks selected?
We compare the required wall height, curves, finish and manufacturer system details. Not every decorative block is rated for the same retained height or load; the correct unit and reinforcement are determined from the actual site design.
Why does the base extend beyond the visible wall?
The buried foundation and leveling pad establish alignment and distribute loads. A block wall also needs appropriate embedment, drainage and backfill; a perfectly level top course cannot compensate for a weak base.
When is geogrid or engineering needed?
Wall height, slope, nearby loads and the chosen system determine reinforcement and engineering needs. We confirm design requirements and local approvals before ordering material rather than guessing from appearance alone.
How can the wall match adjoining paving?
Coordinate block color, cap profile and joint pattern with patio or walkway samples in daylight. Also plan the finished elevations so water does not collect where the new wall meets paving.
